Dana West Students Earn Scholastic Art Award Recognition

We’d like to congratulate three exceptionally talented Port Byron students from the Dana West Jr.-Sr. High School, who recently earned recognition for their artistic merit!

Michaella Allen, Hali Harkness, and Madalyn Jordan all received recognition for their submissions to the Scholastic Art Competition. The contest invites entries from 93 different schools across 13 participating counties, and the most recent call to action saw over 6,000 individual submissions. Awards are determined by a panel of judges who are professionals in the field of art. Panelists looked for originality, skill/technique, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.

Among those who entered, fewer than 10% received awards recognition, making these students’ accomplishments all the more noteworthy. Click on any of the images below to view them in high resolution!
