Students Invite Senior Citizens to Elementary School for Breakfast and Bingo

This morning, the A.A. Gates Student Government (grades 4-6) hosted a Senior Breakfast at the elementary school. Invites were sent out to local senior citizen-focused organizations, and over 20 local citizens took advantage of the opportunity.

Student government representatives held the door open for the invitees as they arrived, took their jackets, and invited them to sit down. As the guests chatted and laughed, the students brought over plates of danishes, donuts, drinks, and other assorted breakfast goods for them to choose from.

After everyone was seated, the students lined up and introduced themselves. As the breakfast portion of the proceedings wound down, students then handed out “Christmas Bingo” cards, and joined their guests in the holiday-themed contest.

Throughout the morning, the students did a remarkable job of making their guests feel welcome and attending to their needs. Most of all, they enjoyed the feeling of camaraderie with their guests!
