The Poet-Tree contest tasked students with writing poems on paper leaves, and submitting them to school librarian Melissa Beyel. Mrs. Beyel then collaborated with Gates faculty to help choose the winners from among the dozens of entries submitted.

For the Halloween Short Story contest, students were asked to write a “spooky” short story (two-page-or-less), keeping with the theme of the season. Entries from both contests will later be featured as part of the Three Lakes Sampler at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, and great work!
