Class of 2017 Senior Spotlight: Taylor Marie Cuff

Port Byron Central School District Class of 2017 member and Top 10 student Taylor Cuff is eyeing a career that features her favorite academic subjects: math and science.

This fall, Taylor plans to attend Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she will study clinical laboratory sciences. Ten years from, she hopes to have already earned a master’s degree and is working a job she “loves.”

While attending Dana L. West Junior/Senior High School, Taylor served as Class of 2017’s president and was treasurer for Student Government Association and National Honor Society. She participated in Panther Press Live and was a member of the school’s field hockey and dance teams.

Taylor said throughout her high school journey, school counselor Tracey Pirozzolo played an important role.

“Mrs. Pirozzolo had a big impact on me,” Taylor said. “She was always the one I could go to for everything. I wouldn’t have accomplished what I have without her.”

As she prepares for a new adventure outside of the community she’s always called ‘home,’ Taylor said she expects graduation day to be bittersweet.

“I grew up with everyone here,” she said. “Saying goodbye will definitely hurt the most, but I will forever cherish the memories I’ve made here.”

An Auburn resident, Taylor is the daughter of Erin and Alan Cuff.
