Registration is now open for school-based dental clinic

A.A. Gates Elementary School students will soon have the opportunity to receive preventative dental care at school.

Port Byron Central School District students in UPK through sixth-grade are eligible to enroll in East Hill Family Medical’s mobile dental clinic program, which provides dental services such as exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and fillings to all students regardless of family financial or insurance status.

Students who are not receiving routine dental care (every six months) or are experiencing dental issues are encouraged to sign-up for the school-based program. Students who are not covered by insurance or an existing dental provider can receive an exam, cleaning, fluoride treatment and dental sealant through the clinic at no charge.

Students who are receiving regular dental care, including those covered by a dental insurance plan, are also encouraged to participate. East Hill will submit all patient records to students’ existing dental offices and insurance claims will be sent to patients' providers at no charge.

All procedures performed by East Hill's school-based clinic will be provided to Port Byron students during school hours and by licensed East Hill dentists and dental hygienists. The school-based dental staff from East Hill will work with school staff to coordinate the appointments.

Parents and guardians can enroll their child in East Hill's mobile dental clinic program by completing the registration forms that were sent home with all elementary students on March 20. Completed forms are due back to school by March 27. Clinic dates will be announced following registration completion.
